Our History
In 1919, with one moving truck, sensitivity for others and a lot of determination, Economy Moving & Transfer Company began its journey toward perfecting the art of moving.
Thirty four years later Edward Marx purchased Economy Moving from his father. In 1982, after the moving industry was deregulated, Edward founded New World Van Lines and was granted the authority to operate the company as a 48 state carrier.
Each year we listened to our customers and employees, developing new methods to make your move a smooth, exciting experience. Edward introduced the innovative “single crew service” using only full time, uniformed employees, and the exclusive use of company owned equipment in lieu of owner operators.
We have grown through the years and currently have company owned warehouses located throughout the country, with hundreds of trucks to serve you. The commitment to moving your possessions both quickly and carefully hasn’t changed since our first move in 1919.
These traditions are continued today by Edward’s Family.

Our ACT Mission: To build upon the New World giving tradition, engaging all New World employees to address four areas of need, our giving pillars. These are: Food and Clothing, Health and Wellness, Education, and Support for our Armed Forces.

All crew members are subject to rigorous pre-employment checks, utilize the latest in packing materials and equipment, and are well versed in handling everything from automobiles to the most delicate antiques and art objects.

New World Transportation Systems (NWTS) was incorporated in 2006 by the owners of New World Van Lines, an industry leader specializing in corporate relocation. We continue the Marx family tradition of a people-first philosophy. NWTS believes that although equipment, trucks, and technology are essential, professional employees and drivers who put safety and customers first are important in distinguishing New World from other transportation services companies in the industry.
NWTS provides qualified, professional drivers and owner operators for you or your client’s company-owned assets. We can transport a variety of trailers and specialty equipment, as well as trailer-mounted equipment. Our team is available for short haul or cross country movements to suit your needs. With knowledgeable staff, reasonable rates, and unparalleled customer service, NWTS is the choice for Power-Only services.
Our regional coordination offices work with an extensive network of carefully vetted service partners in 150 countries. With many partners, we have decade’s long relationships and new partners will go through an extensive due diligence process before added to our supply chain. We meet with partners in country and/or during annual industry conferences of associations that New World and its partners belong to.

The peace of mind knowing that help is available! Your personal crew will place furniture where you like it and will reassemble everything they disassembled. With your authorization, they will also unpack all of your boxes onto tabletops, counters, beds and floors for you to distribute throughout your house or office.
Your belongings will only be stored in one of New World’s company owned and operated modern facilities. All of New World’s storage facilities meet stringent standards. These include burglar and fire protection, heating and air circulation, and pad wrapping of all furniture. All our warehouse personnel are professional movers.
